About

Ben Sanchez, a lifelong resident of the 153rd legislative district, was born and raised in Glenside.  A proud graduate of Abington Senior High School, he went on to get his bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and his law degree from Temple Law School where he met his wife, Karen.  Ben and Karen are proud to raise their three children in the same award winning school district that they attended, and enjoy building and bettering their community where they’ve lived their entire lives.

“It’s satisfying to know my children are walking the same halls as I did as a student” Ben remarked, “and getting the same great education that led me to where I am today.”

As the son of two college professors, hard work, dedication and the importance of a good and fair education was instilled in him at an early age.  Growing up in a household that taught strong democratic values, Ben began his appreciation for American politics and government very young.  It was during these formative years where he learned the importance of giving back to his community and to always strive to protect and defend others in need.

Upon becoming Abington Township Commissioner for Ward 7 in 2014, Ben was able to help his community in an official capacity.  In that role, he learned how much he enjoyed public service in government - working hard for his neighbors and striving to solve community issues. In 2019, he furthered his commitment to public service when he was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, a role he cherishes.

“When I decided to run for office, it was because I had a particular set of skills that I believed could add significant value to our local government in my hometown. As a practicing lawyer and licensed certified public accountant, I will continue to use those legal and financial skills along with my sound judgment to address issues facing the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I now have over five years of service in the legislature and a proven track record. I look forward to continuing to serve everyone with compassion, hard work and my faithful dedication to good government and our community.”
